Biography

I've been managing my own portfolio for most of my adult life, but putting pen to paper for retail investors has been the most rewarding thing I've done professionally. My route to markets was somewhat indirect — I read Russian and Politics at UCL, completed a PhD in Development Economics, and spent time at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development while finishing my thesis, with a brief detour into journalism along the way.

Investment strategy

I look for undervalued stocks with genuine growth potential in sectors where the structural trends are already working in your favour. I've long believed in owning compute, and I'm equally drawn to companies with durable moats in sectors like industrials — businesses where competitive advantage is hard-won and harder to displace. For some time I've been advocating a Citrini-esque macro framework as a lens for thinking about where capital should flow. And despite the fear that grips most of us when markets turn, I try to treat that discomfort as a signal to lean in rather than step back.
