Millennial who started reading about the stock market in 2010.
I now hold an MSc in Investment Analysis and work in the Wealth Management industry.
With a full time job and two young kids, my portfolio performance sometimes has additional variance depending on the time committed to it!
I am always learning and developing as an investor. As markets change, so must we in order to be successful.
The mainstay of my portfolio has historically been UK mid and small caps, but that has been a difficult market recently due to poor liquidity. I am increasingly looking to move up the cap scale and achieve more diversification through overseas stocks, commodities and crypto.
For example, current holdings include a Japanese bank, Chinese internet stocks (KWEB), silver and crypto, alongside my UK positions.
Fundamentals, technicals and macro are all important. I have a decent record of selling to cash when I think a major selloff is coming, as I find myself very focused on minimising drawdowns. That's probably the tight Scotsman in me!
