Biography

I am a private investor, while working full time from home.
I started actively investing in 2015 when I transferred my pension to a SIPPS and bought funds using the Hargreaves Lansdown Wealth Shortlist.
After reading the Robbie Burns books (Naked Trader) and attending a couple of his courses, I started trading UK shares (mainly small cap). I had a bad tendency to overtrade and found that I was spending far too much time doing it, only to discover that if I had stuck with my funds, I would have been better off!
After a terrible 2022 where I am down 25% I have decided to take matters back into my hands.

Investment strategy

I am paid by salary sacrifice so maximise my pension contributions, rather than saving into an ISA as I would be able to draw from my SIPPS from 2024.
I am a long way off from being financially independent though and would like to have approx 600K in the pot, while being able to return 10% PA before I do that.

My aim is to hit this target in 6 years by adding 30K into my SIPPS each year (50% of my salary so no shopping sprees for me!), and seeking a 10% return from my investments

  • 2022 - 200K
  • 2023 - 250K
  • 2024 - 305K
  • 2025 - 365K
  • 2026 - 432K
  • 2027 - 505K
  • 2028- 585K

From 2023 I will manage my own diversified UK and US portfolios, selecting candidate using the top stock ranks and selling when the rank falls below 80 (as long as QM and VM are also below 80). I will add European data from 2024 as these seem to have the best returns for small caps based on stock rank
