Fire Juggler

The thinking here rightly or wrongly is that businesses often promise to provide fire juggling monkey's on pedestals. (especially 'jam tomorrow' businesses). 

Training fire juggling monkeys is hard. like really really hard. (The cure for obesity is near! The cure for cancer is nearly here!! The cure for...(add ailment/breakthrough here..) And so companies offer progress in the form of a pedestal... the easy bit.  

I am an optimist. I believe people 99% of the time mean well. But consistently  &  unknowingly overpromise and underdeliver. That sounds pessimistic I admit. But it's not. It's realistic.  Show me a fire juggling monkey and ....I'm all in. 

In business (for me) - the pedestal is; the story, marketing,  PR, future profits maybe. The easy stuff.  The jugglers do the hard stuff - the daily grind, generate cashflow, net margin, buybacks, eps growth . You know the score. The dream of course is juggling monkeys on pedestals. But at the end of the day in the long term -It's all about the clever monkeys. Obvs.
