Commercial Background in FMCG Corporates and an SME. Founded my own business supplying major supermarkets with white label products.

I'm a bargain hunter, it's where I naturally find myself. I spend my time looking for value, market inefficiencies and margin of safety. My aim is to find asymmetrical opportunities. Don't believe in wide spread diversification, aim for 10 to 15 holdings. Tend to have a fairly volatile portfolio which I can live with as long as my research has been done properly and I believe in the direction.

Practice trying to sit on the sidelines and wait (however difficult this can be). Must understand the business to invest (happy to learn new areas if not too complex) which tends to be consumer based business', manufacturing, insurance etc. Like a good balance sheet analysis and also looking for off balance sheet items for extra margin of safety. Also like trying to understand potential competitive advantages...again related to margin of safety. Try to put my knowledge from my commercial background into use to understand situations. Happy to take on some risk when the odds line up.

Also own some property for day to day cashflow only. Not intending to increase my investments in this area.
