Still working this one out but, on the whole, I prefer buying into companies with exciting growth potential. However, to sort-of hedge against those more risky shares, I have some safer dividend paying companies, along with funds. I am quite partial to oilies and miners, due to some early successes. Quite happy to have small amounts in these as more of a gamble. In my early days, I convinced myself that, if I wasn't trading daily, I wasn't trading at all. Excitement at this new thing, I guess. I have now calmed down, hold onto things for much longer, don't sell the second I see a profit and choose my investments a bit more wisely.
