My stock picks before I used Stockopedia were usually unsuccessful and very random in approach. I then became a ShareSoc Non-Executive Director which gave me an opportunity to learn from experienced and highly successful investors like Leon Boros, Chris Boxall, David Stredder, Mark Bentley and Roger Lawson.

Stockopedia provides excellent data on individual shares and encouraged me to look at companies in much more detail and in a more effective way. Plus I have listened to a number of Ed’s webinars and started to learn how to be more analytical when evaluating companies to invest in.

My approach to investing has been vastly improved through using Stockopedia and the results speak for themselves.

I wrote a review of my share portfolio (only an ISA) at the end of 2019 which ended the year 25% up - which I was pleased with, being a relative newcomer to investing.

Surprisingly 2020 was an even better year (albeit a bit of a roller coaster). When COVID hit early in 2020 and a lockdown was looming I reviewed my entire portfolio and sold any share that I thought would suffer in a lockdown and bought a couple of tech companies that I thought would survive OK.

My portfolio seldom holds more than 25-30 shares and in 2020 ten of them doubled or more in price. My ISA was up 80% if I include profits made in my spread betting account which I transferred into my ISA. I have been inspired by ISA Millionaires Leon Boros and Lord Lee but have a long way to go and know I still have a lot still to learn!

I use Stockopedia extensively to track my portfolio and use their highly effective StockReports and follow Paul Scott’s excellent Small Cap Value Reports. I strongly recommend subscribing if you don’t already.
