David's Story

Before Stockopedia, how did you go about finding investments?

With a background running a foreign exchange trading and sales operation at an investment bank for 20 years or so, the only trading in stocks I did was in the family ISAs, and now the SIPPs. My original system was based on Jim Slater’s PEG criteria. I then developed a couple of my own searches with moderate success, generally outperforming the market, albeit modestly. A few years ago I became aware of Stockopedia and, impressed with the price, I started a subscription.

In what way has Stockopedia changed your approach to investing?

I don’t think Stockopedia has changed my approach to investing, but what it has done is provide me with a slightly different set of tools.

David uses Stockopedia to enhance his performance

Has this impacted your investment results and/or quality of life?

On balance I am getting slightly better results from Stockopedia, so I would certainly say it’s enhanced my performance, although this year is a bit more challenging! Quality of life hasn’t really been affected as I had a good career, but as I’m now retired it’s nice to know you’re not always eating into your capital by producing some nice trading returns.
