Before Stockopedia, how did you go about finding investments?
Prior to Stockopedia I choose stocks after studying trading statements and the media. The companies that I chose must have a consistent improvement in performance, minimum debt and a P/E less than 20. Most importantly there must be a reason for future improvement in performance. I still use this criteria for 80% of my selections.

I use Stockopedia to help me identify stocks with a strong momentum that are either cheap or are good quality. The Quality, Value and Momentum ranks really help me with this. I look at the charts to identify those with higher highs and lower lows and use the Stockopedia data to study the company's fundamentals which saves me a lot of time.

Be sceptical of stock tips in the media and broker ratings. Take note of the media coverage but do your own research before making a decision. Be very cautious when investing in AIM. Don't invest too much in the beginning, there are a lot of lessons to be learnt which you will probably learn the hard way.
