I’m 66 now and have only just started investing an accumulation of ISA allowances that have been sitting in accounts making very little.
Now I have more time I thought I’d give the markets a go. For guidance, I started off reading The Naked Trader which all made total sense to me, it was reiterated many times from Robbie that research is the key and Stockopedia is quite an amazing platform to do just that.
I really enjoy browsing through your pages searching for those bargain stocks. I’m also extremely lucky to have a very good friend who has just retired from the city, is quite experienced trading and really nice level-headed guy.
I spend a week searching Stockopedia, then I’ll pick out 3 stocks that look great and I can’t see any reason not to buy. I pass them onto him to analyse. He gets back to me with what he thinks is the best of the bunch. I’ll then check and re-check through Stockopedia and if I still feel happy I’ll invest.
My aim and intention are good solid long-term investments that can grow within my ISA account. I’m not interested in day trading, CFD’s, Forex, or Bitcoin. To me that is just chancing your arm, speculating and hoping for the best. When your luck runs out, so does your money.

I'm doing well at the moment. I’ve applied stop losses on all my stocks at -15% which I review every month and ratchet up if it’s been a good month. However, if they do reach that stop loss I would always buy them back when they’ve bottomed out hopefully resulting in more shares than I had before.
I sourced and researched all my stocks through Stockopedia, and so far overall I’m 14% up having started last September. I may have been lucky, but I check on the StockRanks daily to make sure they’re staying to the good.
I’m 110% committed to Stockopedia. It’s an amazing service and I’m so glad I was guided towards it. I can’t praise it enough.
