3i announces result of audit tender
 
Following a competitive tender process led by the Audit and Compliance Committee, 3i Group plc today announces its intention to propose the appointment of KPMG LLP as its external auditor for the financial year ending 31 March 2021. A resolution to approve their appointment will be put to shareholders at the Company's AGM in June 2020.
As disclosed in the Group's 2018 Annual report and accounts, 3i must appoint a new auditor for its year ended 31 March 2021. The tender process, which commenced after the publication of our Annual report, was run in 2018 to allow as wide a group of participants as possible sufficient time to be able to become independent.
The Board expects that Ernst & Young LLP will remain the Group's auditors until the year ended 31 March 2020. To facilitate an orderly transition, KPMG LLP will also observe the FY2020 audit.  
The Board would like to acknowledge Ernst and Young LLP's significant contribution as the Group's auditors over the years and thank the other firms who participated in the audit tender.
