BUZZ-AC Immune rises after Parkinson's drug shows promise in mid-stage trial ** Shares of Switzerland-based drug developer AC Immune ACIU.O rise 3% to $2.81 premarket
** Co says its experimental drug for early-stage Parkinson's disease, ACI-7104, met all safety and immune-response goals in the first part of a mid-stage trial involving 34 patients
** After three immunizations, all patients developed antibodies against alpha-synuclein, a protein whose buildup is linked to brain-cell damage in Parkinson's disease
** Co says antibodies entered the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, with early signs that the drug reached its intended target
** Co plans to discuss the design of an expanded mid-stage trial with the US FDA in early 2027
** First part of the trial assessed the drug's safety, tolerability and immune response, while the expanded study will evaluate its clinical activity - ACIU
** As of last close, ACIU down 13.1% YTD
