U.S. stocks fell on Friday as disappointing forecasts from Amazon and Apple
pushed the Nasdaq toward sharp monthly declines, with the biggest surge in
monthly inflation since 2005 adding to investor worries. .N 
    
    At 11:54 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.90% at
33,610.97. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 1.53% at 4,221.9 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 1.51% at 12,676.734.
