EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: FUTURES SIGNAL STEADY OPEN
Major European equity index futures are signalling a flat-to-slightly-higher open on Wednesday as upbeat results from SpaceX SPCX.O and Super Micro Computer SMCI.O after hours eased some concerns about the technology sector.
Lingering worries about oil prices and bond yields kept the gains in check. Brent crude futures LCOc1 held above $110 per barrel overnight.
Euro STOXX 50 futures STXEc1 are up about 0.3%. Futures on the DAX FDXc1 are up a similar amount while FTSE FFIc1 and CAC FCEc1 are little changed.
Earnings in Europe included an unscheduled release from Adidas ADSGn.DE, which raised its full-year profit outlook after a record quarter. Its full earnings report is scheduled for October 29.
Eyewear group EssilorLuxottica ESLX.PA said its revenue rose 7.2% in the third quarter, beating analysts' expectations. Its shares have halved in value over the last year as privacy concerns and intensifying competition in the smart glasses category have weighed.
