The following factors could affect Italian markets on Monday

POLITICS
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni accused her one-time close ally Donald Trump of fabricating a story about her on Friday, after the U.S. president told an Italian TV channel that she had "begged" him to take a photo with her at a G7 summit. Trump repeated the assertion on Saturday, misspelling her name as "Gigiorgia" as he posted on his Truth Social platform that "she wants to be friends again in order to get her 'numbers up'". Meloni responded, posting on Instagram in English: “My popularity is none of your concern. I suggest you focus on yours.”

DEBT
Italy's Treasury raised a total of 8.84 billion euros ($10.13 billion) from small savers at the end of its offer of a 5-year inflation-linked BTP bond, Bourse data showed on Friday.
        
COMPANIES 
Six Milan blue chips going ex-dividend on Monday - Leonardo LDOF.MI, Poste Italiane PST.MI, STMicroelectronics STMMI.MI, Snam SRG.MI, Terna TRN.MI and Hera HRA.MI - will shave 0.21% off the FTSE MIB at the open, traders calculate.

UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
UniCredit holds 42.5% of Commerzbank CBKG.DE, the Italian bank said on Friday, following the closure of the initial offer period.

   The Tuscan lender holds a board meeting on Monday.

      French bank Credit Agricole, in its role as leading investor in Banco BPM, is at the moment unlikely to support a rival offer for MPS that would challenge the bid made by Intesa Sanpaolo, Il Giornale daily reported on Monday.

The Italian bank said on Saturday it had received ECB authorisation for a share buyback up to 3% for €750 million.
        
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
The Franco-Italian automaker holds a 9.5% stake in U.S. solid-state battery startup Factorial Energy FAC.O and might buy further shares in the future, a SEC filing showed.
        
RECORDATI RECI.MI
The pharma group said on Friday Italy's market watchdog Consob has temporarily suspended the review period for the approval of the offer document relating to the takeover bid by CVC Capital Partners CVC.AS and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert GBLB.BR "in order to obtain missing information".
(*) The investor CVC has entered into a derivative contract relating to Recordati shares for up to 4.9% of the share capital, strengthening its position in the takeover bid.

PIRELLI PIRC.MI 
Camfin said on Friday it had proposed to the shareholder meetings of CAA and Longmarch to shift by 5 years, to 30 June 2040, the eventual dissolution of the companies.

AEFFE AEF.MI
Aeffe's brand Moschino and its creative director Adrian Appiolaza have mutually agreed to part ways after more than two years of collaboration, the luxury group said on Friday.
Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, who founded the contemporary Milan-based label Sunnei, will take over responsibility for Moschino’s creative direction, the company said on Sunday.
The duo served as creative leads at Sunnei until September 2025. Their first collection for Moschino is set to be unveiled in September 2026 during Milan Fashion Week.

(*) IPO
Italian cash-for-gold trader Gens Aurea said on Monday it is planning to list on the Milan stock exchange, marking what would be the first major initial public offering in the country in three years.
