- Alibaba 9988.HK , one of China’s most valuable technology companies, sued the U.S. Department of Defense, challenging the Pentagon’s decision to designate it as a company affiliated with the Chinese military.
     
- The European Union’s chief aviation regulator has ordered inspections of 16 Airbus AIR.PA A380 jets after cracks were found in a key wing component on some of the aircraft.
     
- Norma Yaeger, who became a rare female stockbroker in the early 1960s and went on to found two securities firms died on June 3 in Los Angeles at 96.
