** Shares of vaccine maker Moderna MRNA.O rise 9% to $59.25 premarket

** MRNA on track for gains after logging its biggest weekly jump since mid-January on Friday

** Last week, Moderna told Reuters it has conducted preclinical research on hantaviruses in collaboration with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases

** Moderna signed a research agreement in 2023 with Korea University to develop an mRNA-based vaccine for hantavirus partnered, under its mRNA Access Program

** Shares of Inovio INO.O up 11%, Novavax NVAX.O up 4.3%

** Shares of protective apparel makers Lakeland Industries LAKE.O and Alpha Pro Tech APT.A up about 6% premarket

** Up to last close, MRNA up 84.3% YTD
