Ameresco rallies on raised 2026 EPS outlook, data center momentum
BUZZ-Ameresco rallies on raised 2026 EPS outlook, data center momentum ** Energy infrastructure firm Ameresco's AMRC.N shares surge 29.7% to $29.47 and on course for steepest gain in a year on Tues after it raised full-yr earnings forecast and said new awards to project backlog more than tripled from a year ago to $1.8 bln
** AMRC hits a two-month high and now up ~1% YTD
** Framingham, Massachusetts-based co late Mon posted Q2 adj EPS of 20 cents, 4 cents above LSEG estimate, and boosted FY earnings guidance to $1.15-$1.35 from prior outlook of $1.06-$1.28
** Co said about $1.2 bln of new awards booked during the qtr tied to data center projects; remainder came from co's other business lines, including its industrial and commercial customers
** BNP Paribas upgraded AMRC to 'outperform' from 'neutral' and increased its PT by $6 to $40
** This significant, "somewhat surprising" acceleration of data center (DC) project traction, even if early stages, should improve AMRC's valuation from its depressed levels (~8-9x 2-yr forward EV/EBITDA) in recent months, BNP Paribas says in note to clients
** Avg rating of 12 brokers covering AMRC is "buy"; median PT $44 - LSEG
