** Shares of American West Metals Ltd  AW1.AX  rise as much
as 5.9% to A$0.125, set for its best day since Nov. 14
    ** The Australian mineral explorer, which also has business
in Canada and the U.S., says its Copper Warrior project in Utah,
U.S. has potential to contain large volumes of copper
mineralisation
    **Adds that survey data shows anomalies associated with
high-grade outcropping copper
    **AW1 says that the project surrounds the historical Big
Indian and Blue Jay copper mines, indicating potential for
extensions to known copper mineralisation
    **Stock is down 5.6% this year, as of last close
