** Shares of American West Metals Ltd  AW1.AX  rise as much
as 20.8% to A$0.145, their highest level since Nov 3, 2022
    ** Mineral explorer to raise A$3.1 mln ($2.07 mln) to expand
drill programme at its Storm Copper project in Canada
    ** During a survey earlier this month, co found a large
copper system at the project  
    ** Issue price of A$0.095 per share is at a 20.8% discount
to stock's last close 
    ** About 15.5 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average trading volume of 4.5 mln shares 
    ** Shares up 11.6% YTD, as of last close
