** Electronics equipment maker Amphenol nears $10 billion deal to buy CommScope's broadband connectivity, cable unit, WSJ reported on Sunday

** Barring any last-minute issues, transaction could be finalised as soon as Monday, report said

** Amphenol struck deal last year to buy CommScope's outdoor wireless network, distributed antenna systems businesses for $2.1 bln in cash

** YTD, COMM, APH both gain ~50%
