President of Azerbaijan visit to the Demirli mine

Anglo Asian Mining plc ("Anglo Asian" or the "Company"), the AIM-listed gold, copper and silver producer focused in Azerbaijan, is pleased to announce that it welcomed the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on an official visit to the Company's Demirli mine on 13 January 2026. In recent months, the mine has achieved several key milestones, including entering production, establishing a new logistics centre to maximise sales efficiency and making its first copper concentrate sales. 

 

The visit underscores the close cooperation between Anglo Asian and the Government of Azerbaijan, whose supportive pro-mining approach has enabled a highly productive relationship between the Company and the Government.

 

Hosted by the Company's CEO, Reza Vaziri, the visit included the President, who was accompanied by the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC. The Party undertook a tour of the site, viewed the Company's logistics centre and triggered an ore blast.

 

The Demirli mine, which employs approximately 1,000 people, is a key component of Anglo Asian's multi-asset portfolio in Azerbaijan, which now includes three producing mines. Demirli's successful start of production demonstrates Anglo Asian's strong track record of bringing sites into production in a sustainable manner, benefiting both its domestic and international stakeholders. Anglo Asian remains focused on maintaining this track record as it targets production from two further assets, Xarxar and Garadag, in the medium term.
