Aptiv cuts 2026 sales forecast on weak China demand, delays at customers Aug 4 (Reuters) - Auto parts maker Aptiv APTV.BN cut its 2026 sales forecast on Tuesday, hurt by sluggish demand in China and delays in vehicle programs at customers.
Shares of the company tumbled 16% in afternoon trading.
Here are some details:
Aptiv is navigating softer demand from both Chinese domestic and European automakers selling into the country, impacting its full-year forecast by $150 million, Chief Financial Officer Varun Laroyia said on a post-earnings call.
Delays in ramping up production on certain programs in China and a postponed vehicle launch by a European customer reduced expected revenue by another $100 million, he added.
"We did not benefit from the expansion to additional car lines as we originally anticipated," he said, without disclosing the European client.
Aptiv now expects 2026 revenue between $12.6 billion and $12.8 billion, lower than the $12.8 billion to $13.2 billion projected previously.
In the second quarter, the company reported an adjusted profit of $1.63 per share, compared to average analysts' estimates of $1.43, according to data compiled by LSEG.
