** Co says its experimental therapy, AR-501, has met main
goals of a mid-stage study in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF)
with a type of bacterial infection
** In the study, CF patients achieved high uptake of AR-501
in the respiratory tract, measured by sputum concentrations - co
says; sputum is a thick type of mucus made in lungs
** No drug-related serious adverse events were observed -
ARDS
** AR-501 is an inhaled formulation of gallium citrate,
being developed to treat chronic lung infections in CF patients
** Co adds inhaled delivery achieved more than 10-fold
higher respiratory uptake of gallium (AR-501) in the trial than
past clinical studies of intravenous gallium
** ARDS shares down ~61% this year, as of last close
