** Shares of Armata Pharmaceuticals ARMP.A rise 24.8% to $8.26 premarket
** Co says the U.S. FDA agreed that data from its mid-stage study support moving the therapy, called AP-SA02, into a late-stage trial
** AP-SA02 is being tested to treat complicated Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia, a severe bloodstream infection that can spread to organs and become life-threatening
** The trial will test whether the treatment is superior to the current standard of care
** The FDA also indicated it would consider granting the therapy a Qualified Infectious Disease Product designation, which can provide incentives such as extended market exclusivity, ARMP says
** Armata expects to begin the trial in H2 2026
** ARMP rose 222% in 2025
