Japanese Astellas employee indicted by China prosecutors, Kyodo reports (updated)

TOKYO, Aug 21 (Reuters) - A Japanese employee of
pharmaceutical company Astellas Pharma Inc 4503.T detained by
China prosecutors has been indicted on espionage charges, Kyodo
News reported on Wednesday citing government sources.
The employee was detained in March 2023.
Officials at Japan's foreign ministry and Astellas were
not immediately available for comment.
