STOXX DRAGGED DOWN BY WEAKER ENERGY, HEALTHCARE
The STOXX 600 .STOXX slipped around 0.2% in early trade on Monday, weighed down by a sharp drop in crude prices that hit energy .SXEP and by weakness in healthcare stocks .SXDP.
Gains in banks .SX7P and a modest rebound in tech .SXP after last week's selloff provided some support, while airlines benefited from lower fuel costs, helping lift the travel and leisure sector .SXTP slightly higher.
The Euro STOXX 50 .STOXX50E blue-chip index fared somewhat better, up 0.1%. In London, the FTSE 100 .FTSE declined 0.2%, with oil major BP BP.L and drugmaker AstraZeneca AZN.L among the biggest drags, both down over 1%.
Alstom ALSO.PA was last down more than 30% after slashing its full-year profitability outlook again.
