Australia's Aurum Resources falls on discounted placement

** Shares of Aurum Resources  AUE.AX  slump as much as 13.2%
to A$0.230, set for their worst day since Dec 18, if losses hold
    ** The diversified miner says it will raise about A$7 mln
via a share placement 
    ** Issue price of A$0.24 per share is at a 9% discount to
the last trading price on Feb 1 
    ** Co says funds raised will be used for field exploration
programmes at the newly acquired Boundiali Gold Project in Cote
d'Ivoire 
    ** Shares hit lowest since Jan 4 
    ** Stock has risen 6% this year, as of last close
