** Shares in Norwegian salmon farmers rise, with analysts
citing Conservative Party Hoyre's proposal to cut the resource
rent tax on salmon farmers from 25% to 15%
** Last year, the Norwegian parliament passed a bill to
impose a 25% resource rent tax on salmon farmers, down from an
original government proposal of 40%
** Hoyre, the main opposition party in the Norwegian
parliament, rejected the government's proposal and voted against
the bill
** Fish farmers have lobbied against the tax, which comes on
top of a regular 22% corporate tax, saying it hampers investment
and hurts the industry
** Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in
Norway on Sept. 8, 2025, with Hoyre leading the polls
** Shares in Mowi MOWI.OL and Salmar SALM.OL are up 3.5%
and 3.3%, respectively
** Grieg Seafood GSFG.OL , Leroy LSG.OL and Austevoll
AUSS.OL are also up 5.6%, 4%, and 3.2%, respectively
