ECONOMY
Italy posted on Thursday a state sector budget deficit of 16
billion euros ($17.61 billion) in May compared to a shortfall of
11.72 billion euros in the same month last year.
COMPANIES
AUTOGRILL AGL.MI
Dufry DUFN.S has secured around 94.3% of the Italian
caterer capital at the end of the exchange offer, Reuters
calculations based on provisional data by Borsa Italiana showed,
paving the way for the delisting of the Italian group.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
The car maker does not need the Italian state as a
shareholder as it is in good shape, its Chairman John Elkann
said on Thursday, responding to business lobby calls for Italy
to invest directly in the group.
The car maker said on Thursday it would invest 160 million
euros at its Rennes plant to launch a 100% electric compact
Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in 2025.
Stellantis held a 32.9% market share in Italy's car market
in May, Reuters calculations based on the data provided by the
transport ministry showed. Industry-wide car sales rose 23.13%
last month, the transport ministry said on Thursday.
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
The telecoms' company statutory auditors called on the
Italian phone group to provide directors with detailed
informations over the ongoing bidding process of its prized
landline grid, two sources said on Thursday.
In a letter sent to TIM's chairman, the statutory auditors
asked for directors to be provided with documentations in order
to get a full picture of the process, including the expected
schedule to carry out a deal and valuation of the assets
involved in the transaction, the sources said.
