The following factors could affect Italian markets on Thursday.

    POLITICS
    Italy's outgoing government slashed late on Wednesday its
GDP (gross domestic product) growth estimate for next year to
0.6% from 2.4%, due to the impact of surging energy costs. 
    At the same time, it forecast an improvement in public
finances, with public debt expected to fall to 145.4% of GDP in
2022, versus a previous forecast of 147%. 
    The budget deficit forecast for 2022 was revised to 5.1% of
GDP, from the previous 5.6% of GDP, and for 2023 the government
set a target of 3.4% of GDP. 
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases August producer prices data (0800 GMT).
    DEBT
    Treasury sells 2.25-2.75 billion euros 2.65% BTP bonds due
Dec. 1, 2027; 2.0-2.5 billion euros 2.50% BTP bonds due Dec. 1,
2032; 0.75-1.0 billion euros CCTeu bonds due April 15, 2029.

    Algeria's Sonatrach has signed a deal with Italian utility
Enel and its Spanish associate Endesa  ELE.MC  including new gas
pricing, Sonatrach CEO Tewfik Hakkar said on Wednesday.

    Italy is expected to receive 25.2 billion cubic metres (bcm)
of gas from Algeria this year, up from 20.9 bcm in 2021.

    Fitch Ratings confirmed Generali's Insurer Financial
Strength (IFS) rating at A, with a positive outlook, the Italian
insurance group said late on Wednesday. 
    Fitch also confirmed Generali's Long-Term Issuer Default

    Italian banking foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca will
