** Shares of Avira Resources AVW.AX rise as much as 16.7%
to A$0.0035, their highest level since Dec. 14
** Says an initial drilling program at its Puolalaki project
in northern Sweden found sulphide mineralisation, which
indicates presence of nickel, copper and cobalt
** Shares log best intraday gain since March 31
** Trading volumes near 28x the 30-day average
** As of last close, stock up 50% YTD
