** Shares of Avira Resources Ltd AVW.AX fall as much as
9.1% to A$0.005, their biggest one-day pct loss since Aug. 12
** Gold explorer to raise A$1.4 mln ($1.02 mln) to aid
exploration at both Paterson Range and Wyloo projects in Western

** Co to place up to 343.8 mln new shares, which makes up
about 48% of its free float
** New shares are priced at A$0.004, a 20% discount to
stock's last close on Sept. 15 after which its shares were on a
trading halt
** Trading volumes of 6.4 mln is four times the 30-day avg
volume of 1.6 mln shares
** Stock has lost 31.3% this year, as of last close
($1 = 1.3725 Australian dollars)
