UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 14
UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 14 Aug 14 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Friday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.3%.
* BP: Venezuelan officials signed an agreement for the development of the Loran offshore gas field with British energy producer BP BP.L; investment firm XRG, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC); and the oil and gas unit of Qatar's conglomerate UCC Holding, oil minister Paula Henao said.
* OIL: Oil prices inched up after the United States threatened an indefinite naval blockade of Iran, reviving concerns about supply of crude after the previous session's fall on a weaker outlook for demand and a large build in U.S. stocks.
* GOLD: Gold prices slipped and were headed for a weekly loss as investors locked in profits after mild U.S. inflation data propelled bullion to its highest level in more than two months and weakened the case for a near-term Federal Reserve rate hike.
* COPPER: Copper declined and was set to snap its longest run of weekly gains since 2020, as it and the wider industrial metals complex were weighed down by concerns about demand prospects.
* FTSE: London's FTSE 100 fell to a more than two-week low on Thursday after Antofagasta's downbeat copper production forecast sparked losses in the mining sector and offset any relief from stronger-than-expected economic growth in June.
