    GENERAL 
    Italy has registered 34,283 new coronavirus infections over
the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Wednesday, up
from 32,191 the day before. The ministry also reported 753 COVID
19-related deaths, the highest daily tally since April 3.

    Italy plans to sell at least one U.S. dollar-denominated
bond in 2021 after solid demand for its second issue in roughly
a year following a decade-long hiatus, the head of debt at the

    Fiat Chrysler and PSA shareholders will meet on Jan. 4 to
approve their planned merger and create Stellantis, the world's
fourth biggest car maker, the two companies said on Wednesday.

    ATLANTIA  ATL.MI  
    Traffic on the motorway network operated by Atlantia in
Italy was down 33.3% last week on a year-on-year basis as the
coronavirus outbreak continued to take its toll on transport,

    Moody's Investors Service has downgraded to 'Ba1' from
'Baa3' the senior secured ratings of Azzurra Aeroporti, the
Atlantia's unit that manages the Nice airport, citing the 
persistently difficult operating environment. The outlook is
negative.

    The drinks group said that, following a hacking attack that
has led to some data on its servers being encrypted, the
recovery of IT systems was progressing well. It added
manufacturing and logistics activities as well as the processing
of sales orders across main markets had been resumed and were

    Italy plans to widen an existing guarantee scheme for bank
loans in a move that will help the country's lenders cope with
any future defaults sparked by the pandemic, a draft of the 2021

    International investors will steer clear of Italian impaired
bank loans until prices fall to reflect the higher risks
associated with the COVID-19 crisis, the head of the Italian arm
