UK government awards $379 mln contract for small defence boat maintenance

LONDON, March 25 (Reuters) - Britain awarded a contract worth 283.5 million pounds ($379 million) to companies including Babcock BAB.L and Serco SRP.L to maintain and support 3,000 smaller vessels used by the Royal Navy, the army and others, a government statement on Wednesday said.
