POLITICS, TRADE Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron have agreed on the need to delay a final European Union vote on the Mercosur trade deal, two sources familiar with the discussion told Reuters on Monday. ECONOMY ISTAT releases November CPI final data (0900 GMT) and October foreign trade data (1000 GMT). COMPANIES (*) STELLANTIS STLAM.MI The European Commission is weighing a new compensation scheme that could allow car makers to sell combustion-engine vehicles beyond 2035, Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing senior Commission sources. Under the proposed framework, up to 30% of climate targets could be met through alternative fuels, while approximately 70% would be achieved using green steel, the report said. CALTAGIRONE CALI.MI, MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA BMPS.MI, GENERALI GASI.MI Italy's Caltagirone construction group, a leading investor in bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena and insurer Generali, said on Monday it was beefing up governance controls relating to the two investments. ENI ENI.MI Italy's competition authority has closed an investigation into alleged unfair commercial practices concerning the energy group's unit Plenitude and will take no further action, the regulator said in a weekly bulletin on Monday. (*) BANCO BPM BAMI.MI The bank said on Tuesday it had decided to exercise its option to redeem all of the outstanding Tier 2 Notes, worth 350 million euros, issued on 14 December 2020 with a 10 year maturity, on the issuer call date falling on January 14, 2026. BANCA GENERALI BGN.MI The lender said on Monday it would launch a 100 million euro senior issuance on December 22, to be fully subscribed by its controlling shareholder Generali, with a 3.345% annual coupon and maturing in December 2030. JUVENTUS JUVE.MI Shares in the soccer club surged almost 19% on Monday, after Italy's Agnelli family on Saturday rejected crypto group Tether's surprise offer that valued the Serie A soccer club at 1.1 billion euros ($1.29 billion). DIARY Rome, Bank of Italy, European Central Bank and the World Bank end 4th edition joint conference "Trade, value chains and financial linkages in the global economy". Rome, Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin is expected to attend celebratory event marking the merger between Assopetroli-Assoenergia and Assogasmetano (0930 GMT).
