Italy - Factors to watch on June 26

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Friday

    POLITICS
    Italy and France have agreed to launch a coalition to
support Lebanon after the U.N. UNIFIL peacekeeping initiative in
the area expires at the end of the year, Prime Minister Giorgia
Meloni said on Thursday. Speaking in the French resort of
Antibes after holding talks with French President Emmanuel
Macron, Meloni said they had also discussed a possible
international conference on the issue.
    Meloni reiterated that Italy "did not participate" in the
US-Israeli war against Iran, but only offered "technical and
logistical" support

    ECONOMY
    Istat releases data on June consumer and business confidence
(0900 GMT) and May trade with non-EU countries (1000 GMT).

    France's Credit Agricole  CAGR.PA  has informed the Italian
government it plans to increase its stake in Banco BPM to near
30%, sources said, bolstering its grip on the country's fourth
biggest bank amid a fresh merger wave in the sector. 
    Credit Agricole told Rome officials it had entered
derivative contracts to reach a 29.9% BPM stake from 22.9%, but
ruled out a full takeover, two sources briefed on the
discussions told Reuters, asking not to be named.
    (*) Intesa Sanpaolo is expected to file on Saturday with
market regulator Consob the offer document for its proposed
share-swap takeover of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS),
daily Il Messaggero reported on Friday. It added that regulatory
approval requests have been sent to authorities in around 60
countries and that the bank aims to launch the offer in November
and complete the integration by year-end.
    
    (*) BANCA IFIS  IF.MI  
    Banca Ifis cut on Thursday its 2026 net profit guidanceto
€100-110 million from €170-190 million after launching a process
to sell and deconsolidate its NPL business. The bank has booked
around €70 million of additional provisions, including €30
million linked to preliminary findings from a Bank of Italy
inspection and €40 million on illimity's NPL exposures.
    CEO to hold conference call at 0615 GMT. 
    
    (*) M&A - BANKS
    Non-binding bids for Banca Popolare di Bari, the lender
rescued by state-owned Mediocredito Centrale, are due by June
29, financial daily MF reported. According to the newspaper,
offers are expected from cooperative banking group Iccrea,
alongside Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata, regional lender
Credem  EMBI.MI , and France's Credit Agricole  CAGR.MI   .
    
    FERRARI  RACE.MI  
    Ferrari's first-ever EV model, which has triggered a flurry
of criticism since its unveiling last month, needs to be
"digested" before it can be understood, the company's Chief
Product Development Officer Gianmaria Fulgenzi said on Thursday.
    
    PIRELLI  PIRC.MI  
    The tyremaker's shareholders on Thursday appointed with
58.07% of votes a new board dominated by its Italian investor
Camfin, following a decision by the Italian government to limit
the powers of its larger Chinese investor.    
    
    STELLANTIS  STLAM.MI 
    Automakers Stellantis and Nissan Motor  7201.T  are in talks
to take over some of the assets of the Japanese auto parts
supplier Marelli Holdings, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday,
citing sources. 

    TREVI  TFI.MI 
    The construction and engineering company said on Thursday
that 99.51% of its €100 million capital increase had been
subscribed, raising €99.4 million. Unexercised rights will be
offered on Euronext Milan on June 29-30, it added.

    DIARY
    Milan, "Compete, Innovate, Grow: the new season of
industrial districts", with Intesa Sanpaolo Chairman Gian Maria
Gros-Pietro and Chief Economist Gregorio De Felice (0830 GMT).
    Milan, hearing on the precautionary appeal under Article 700
