Change in Directorate and Director Responsibilities

Bank of Ireland announces the appointment of Mr Akshaya Bhargava as an
Independent Non-Executive Director to the Board of Bank of Ireland Group plc
and the Court of Directors of The Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland
with immediate effect.

 

Mr Bhargava also joins the Risk and Transformation Oversight Committees.

 

Throughout his career, Mr Bhargava has developed extensive experience across
fintech, wealth management, broader international financial services, and
transformation and change. He has founded a number of companies, including
Bridgeweave, a fintech firm that uses AI models to provide institutional
quality research signals and investment ideas to self-directed equity
investors, where he currently serves as Executive Chair. He was previously the
CEO, Global Wealth and Investment Management, at Barclays plc.

 

Mr Bhargava has previously served as a director on the boards of Wealthify
Group Limited, Mindtree Limited, Barclays Asset Management Limited, Vahanna
LLC, and Avendus Wealth Management.

 

In his earlier career, Mr Bhargava spent 22 years, to 2002, in a number of
roles with Citibank, including Chair and Country Manager, Czech Republic. In
2002 he was the founding CEO of Infosys BPO Ltd (formerly known as Progeon
Ltd) leading the company to sale in 2006, providing a significant return to
investors. He served as the CEO of Mitsubishi UFG (formerly known as
Butterfield Fulcrum Group) from 2007 to 2010, prior to its acquisition by
MUFG. He also founded and served as CEO of State Street Managed Account
Services (formerly known as InfraHedge Ltd) from 2010 to 2014, prior to its
acquisition by State Street Bank and Trust in 2013.
