Ottawa taps veteran BMO banker Craig King as CIO of Invest in Canada, sources say TORONTO, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Veteran Bank of Montreal executive BMO.TO Craig King has been named chief investment officer at Invest in Canada, a federal agency responsible for attracting foreign investment, the agency said on Tuesday.
King spent over two decades at BMO and last served as head of diversified industries, investment & corporate banking. He retired from BMO this year
At Invest in Canada, King will lead a team focused on attracting foreign investment and Prime Minister Mark Carney's mandate to catalyze C$1 trillion in total public and private investment across Canada over five years, a source said.
The move comes after Carney hosted an Investment Summit in September that gathered investors from nearly 30 countries and pooled in nearly C$500 billion in new investment commitments
