Bassett Furniture rises on $191 mln go-private offer

** Shares of home furnishings retailer Bassett Furniture
Industries Inc  BSET.O  up ~15% before the bell and is set to
open at one-month high of $19 
    ** Retail sector holding company CSC Generation Inc wants to
buy BSET for roughly $191 mln, according to a letter seen by
Reuters
    ** CSC Generation made the offer to buy BSET for $21 a share
in cash late last month
    ** CSC's offer is a 27% premium to BSET's last close as of
Monday to take the company private
    ** Up to Monday's close, stock had risen ~6% this year
