U.S. stocks edged lower on Tuesday, as a relief rally sparked by
optimism over the U.S.-China trade truce stalled after the
United States threatened tariffs on additional European
goods. .N 
    At 12:53 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI 
was down 0.19% at 26,667.91. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.18%
at 2,958.99 and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.29% at
8,067.704.
