for best day since July 13 if current gains hold
    ** Malaysian gold miner says $10 mln received from Quantum
Metal Recovery under a $300 mln gold purchase agreement
    ** Stock at its highest level since Sept. 20
    ** About 3.6 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of 1.6 mln
    ** Stock up 159.6% YTD, as of last close
