Australia's Big River Industries sees best session in more than 6 months on positive results

** Shares of Big River Industries Ltd  BRI.AX  jump as much
as 7.3% to A$2.20, set for best day since Aug. 12 if gains hold
    ** Timber-focussed wood producer reports HY profit of A$8.8
mln ($6.32 mln), up more than two-fold from the prior

    ** Says revenue rose 45% to A$193.8 mln and declares interim
dividend of 5.5 Australian cents per share, more than twice from
prior half-year
    ** Adds even though supply constraints might remain, they
are not expected to worsen going forward 
    ** Stock hits highest since Dec. 31
    ** Nearly 137,000 shares change hands, 3.6 times the 30-day
average volume of 38,191 shares
    ** Stock down 4.2% this year, as of last close
