** Shares of James Bay Minerals JBY.AX rise as much as 42.9% to an all-time high of A$1.100

** The miner says it has entered agreement to acquire the high-grade Shafter Silver Project in Texas

** Co will acquire project from Rio Grande Mining Company and Shafter Properties for an upfront consideration of $9.5 million and a deferred consideration of $8.5 million

** Stock posts its biggest intraday pct gain since October 14, 2024

** More than 2.5 million shares change hands, compared with the 30-day average volume of about 177,000

** JBY currently up 26.6%, bringing YTD gains to more than 65%
