** Shares of Brazilian Critical Minerals BCM.AX trading 9.7% higher

** The Australian rare earth miner had risen as much as 16.1% to A$0.36 earlier in the session, their highest level since September 20

** Co receives firm commitments to raise A$6 million ($3.97 million) placement at an issue price of A$0.03, same as the stock's closing level on September 30

** Proceeds will be used to advance the Ema Rare Earths Project and others

** About 10.5 mln shares change hands, 1.2 times the 30-day avg

** Stock is up 277.8% YTD, including the session's moves
