SAO PAULO, Dec 19 (Reuters) - A Brazilian association
representing pork and poultry processors predicts costs rising
from higher corn prices next year, which increases the
possibility of companies having to buy imported corn from
Paraguay, Argentina and even the United States.
Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA, told a press conference
on Tuesday that domestic corn output is expected to drop after
delays in the soy harvest, which precedes the cultivation of
Brazil's second corn that represents about 75% of national
output in a given year.
