U.S. stocks edged lower on Friday as a rally this week ran out of steam with
investors assessing remarks from Federal Reserve officials for clues on when the
central bank may start cutting interest rates.  .N 
    
    At 10:44 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.04% at
34,931.4. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.05% at 4,505.99 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 0.17% at 14,089.314.
