Colombia's Isagen sells power assets to EDF, BTG Pactual
Colombia's Isagen sells power assets to EDF, BTG Pactual BOGOTA, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Colombian power generator Isagen, controlled by Brookfield Renewable BEP.N, said on Wednesday it agreed to sell a group of hydroelectric and solar assets to France's EDF Power Solutions and BTG Pactual Commodities BPAC3.SA.
Isagen will divest hydroelectric plants El Popal, El Molino, San Miguel and San Matias, plus solar parks Llanos I, II, III, IV and V, totaling 208 megawatts of installed capacity.
The company did not immediately disclose the value of the deal, which is expected to close before year-end.
The sale is part of Isagen's capital rotation strategy, it said in a securities filing.
"The strategy includes monetizing some assets and reinvesting proceeds in new growth opportunities to strengthen the company's generation portfolio," it added.
Isagen earlier this week announced it acquired the Puerta de Oro solar plant in central Colombia from Brazilian asset manager Patria Investments PAX.O and an Ashmore ASHM.L unit.
