** Shares of biotech co Regeneus  RGS.AX  rise as much as
4.8% to A$0.110, their biggest intraday pct gain since Jan 29
    ** Co says the Japanese Patent Office has granted it a new
patent, covering the use of its stem cell technology Progenza to

    ** Co adds the patent supports its plan to explore
additional licenses for Progenza to treat other indications 
    ** As of last close, stock down 16% this year
